I often walk by interesting looking restaurants while headed someone else in the city or read about places in The Washingtonian and the like, or maybe I just hear about a place from a friend. This page includes a list of the restaurants in DC that I want to try out. Once I’ve been to a restaurant listed here, I’ll write a review and on the blog and remove it from the list. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! :)

I stumbled upon your blog looking for a review of a restaurant in Little Rock. Great blog, I really like it. As a fellow transplanted Arkansan in DC, and someone who once worked in the kitchen at Spaule, a few suggestions to your already good list:

Cork- Call ahead (after 6?) and you can put your name on the list, which will save you a lot of waiting time on the weekend since they don’t take reservations. Great wine at incredible prices and food from a chef who worked at…

Cityzen- Special occasion for sure, but they’ve got an incredible deal where you can do a 3 course tasting at the bar for $45.

Granville Moores: Fun, casual, and in one of the more exciting neighborhoods in the city. Great start to a night out, great beer list. Besides, Bobby Flay got his ass beat there.

Corduroy: A gem of a restaurant and one you’ll hear a lot “food” people, either in the business or just diners, bring up a lot. Tremendous soups.

On your current list, get to Komi. Now. Stop delaying. Also check out DonRockwell.com. Pretty much ground zero for the DC dining scene. Look forward to your reviews.

I don’t know WHY I just now saw this response–must have been busy studying and my husband *cough!* forgot to tell me after he approved it–but these are some great suggestions. I don’t know if I’ve said it on my site or not, but I have some of the fondest food memories of Spaule. I think Spaule took my interest in food and developed it for the first time. My mom and I used to eat there every Monday, and I was so so sad when it closed. Maybe it’s just the fond memories, but Spaule was one of my favorite restaurants of all time, and I’ve always longed for it.
